Ten quick and easy marketing tips to see your online presence grow.

We understand that the internet can be a crowded place at times. So we’ve put together a list of what we think is the 10 best marketing tips to grow your online presence and sales!

1. Be Seen

By creating social media profiles, and regularly updating them with information about your company and products, you can easily communicate with customers, and grow your network. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Google+ are all important networks to reach customers. They also help Google pick up your business in its search engine.

2. Create a mailing list

Email is the most effective technique for lead generation. With three times as many active users than all the social-media networks combined, save and use email addresses. Create regular email campaigns advising your customers what offers/deals/news you have. Don’t spam them, once a month is a good start.

3. Use Analytics

Analytics are a great way to measure your efforts. https://analytics.google.com is a great way to track and evaluate your website traffic, and where it is coming from. There are also built-in analytics tools for Twitter, and Facebook, so you can see what posts are working for you, and areas which you may need to improve.

4. Be Consistent

Use the same terminology on all of your networks. Your product and business descriptions should be the same on Facebook, as on Twitter, and your own website. The same should be said for branding – using three different logos will create uncertainty, and may be misleading. By being consistent it will help your Google search ranking, as well as creating a solid brand image.

5. Create a blog

You may be in an extremely competitive market place (most online businesses are). In order to raise your visibility and generate a following, consider publishing a blog a couple of times a week. This helps your SEO and also helps give a personal touch to your business, allowing discussions and communication freely between you and your customers.

6. Paid Advertising

Pay per click advertising/Google Adwords are a great, cost efficient way to dip your toe into the online marketing world, and allow you to specifically target the regions and areas that relate most to your business. Be sure to enable some form of conversion tracking so you can evaluate how effective and cost efficient this is for you.

7. Evaluate your website’s content

Content is king. What does your website say? Is it useful, unique, or boring? Do people learn things from your website? Do they have a positive experience? When was the last time you updated it? Get a few friends/family members to read through it, see what they think.

8. Optimise your website

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is very important. It determines how you rank on a Google search. Identify the keywords that your customers use to search for your products. SEO is an organic (non-paid) marketing technique, so you should try to learn as much about it as possible. Here is a nice guide from Moz https://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo

9. Learn from others

Especially your competition! What keywords are they using? What type of branding do they have? Sign up to their mailing lists. Engage in business communities within your sector, engage with others to learn how you can market your products better.

10. Read!

The online business market place is continuously changing. Read as much as you can to get an advantage over your competitors. There are lots of guides from beginner, to expert, so there’s no excuse to not read. We’ve compiled a short list of useful articles below.
